Join us in this session as we explore the art of forging meaningful connections.

Parent Mentoring Program

A valuable and comprehensive support package for parents navigating the journey of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) for their young people. This type of support can be incredibly beneficial, especially during transitions to kindergarten, school, and beyond. The combination of a parent mentor and a speech pathologist offers a well-rounded approach to addressing challenges, planning, and enhancing communication skills for parent/ carer and the young AAC communicator.

  1. Individualised Support: tailored to the specific needs of each parent and child. Recognising and addressing individual challenges ensures a more effective and personalised experience
  2. Upskilling: opportunity for parents to enhance their own skills in supporting their child's AAC journey. This empowerment can lead to greater independence and success for both parents and children.
  3. Transition Support: support during critical transitions, such as starting kindergarten or progressing through school. Addressing these transitions early on can positively impact a child's educational and social experience.
  4. Expert Guidance: speech pathologist involved, providing professional guidance and ensuring that the program is evidence-based.
  5. Flexible: contact hours can be in or outside of typical business hours, to suit your needs.
